The function of Resveratrol

The function of Resveratrol

Antipyretic and analgesic effect

Resveratrol can be used in a variety of ways to relieve heat and pain.  Pharmacologists have shown in rats that resveratrol gives the gastric mucosa the ability to resist stress ulcers caused by suppressed gastric secretion without affecting blood pressure.

Anticancer

Resveratrol affects discontinuous stages of cancer by regulating and controlling signal transduction pathways such as cell division and growth, apoptosis, inflammation, angiogenesis and metastasis.

Resveratrol and derivatives for the Prevention andtreatment of Drug Discovery Today, 2010  In this paper, the anticancer activity of resveratrol and its derivatives was systematically reviewed, and it was pointed out that resveratrol and its derivatives had high anticancer activity.

Antioxidation

Resveratrol is a natural antioxidant found in many plants. It mainly inhibits lipid peroxidation by scavenging or inhibiting the generation of oxidative free radicals and regulates the activities of enzymes related to antioxidant function.  When the blood content of resveratrol is 1.3μg/mL or more, it can obviously inhibit the lipid peroxidation of red blood cells in rats, and the lipid peroxidation of skin, heart, kidney and other organs in rats.

Anti – inflammatory, anti – bacterial effect

A combination of microorganisms and inflammatory responses is the cause of many skin diseases, such as staphylococcus aureus infection of hair follicles, folliculitis.  Redness and itching are common signs of tinea pedis, tinea jos, and tinea jos.  A combination of anti – microbial and anti – inflammatory therapy is an ideal treatment for relieving this skin condition.  Therefore, the researchers further investigated whether resveratrol has antibacterial activity against bacteria and fungi.

The antibacterial experimental results show that resveratrol has a strong inhibitory effect on staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other fungi.  On the other hand, anti-inflammatory experimental studies have shown that resveratrol achieves therapeutic effects by reducing platelet adhesion and changing platelet activity during the anti-inflammatory process.
